Darwin equipment hire company and director receive record fine over excavator death

A Darwin equipment hire company and its managing director have been fined a total of $1.14 million over a fatal workplace incident almost four years ago.

NT WorkSafe charged the company and its managing director in May 2021. The company was fined $960,000 in the Darwin Local Court, while the director was ordered to pay a fine of $180,000 by the same court.
