Curtain falls on global workplace safety and health congress in Sydney

The 23rd World Congress on Safety and Health at Work which brought together more than 3000 delegates from 127 countries concluded on Thursday.

The four-day event was closed by SafeWork’s Executive Director for Regulatory Engagement and this year’s World Congress President Andrew Gavrielatos.

Mr Gavrielatos referred to this year’s attendees as a “community” who are prepared to do everything possible to prevent work-related incidents all over the world.

The Congress was also attended by members of SafeWork’s Families and Injured Workers Support and Advisory Group.

“It was great to see the Families and Injured Workers Support and Advisory Group on the world stage. When we listen to those affected by workplace injuries and deaths, we can improve our regulatory approaches and achieve better outcomes together,” head of SafeWork Trent Curtin said.
