Changes to dangerous goods transport regulations in the Northern Territory

The Northern Territory Government has introduced a number of changes to the State’s dangerous goods transport regulations.

The new regulations aim to ensure NT’s dangerous goods laws are consistent with the law in other States and Territories.

NT WorkSafe Executive Director Peggy Cheong said that the safety agency consulted widely before coming up with the new rules.

“The changes will simplify transactions, and minimise compliance and training costs for businesses.”

“These reflect the NT’s commitment to increase efficiency and maximise safety in the transport of dangerous goods.”

The new laws will come into effect on 02 December 2022.
