Campaign to promote safety on roadworks sites launched in Tasmania

A new campaign urging drivers to slow down around roadworks sites has recently been launched in Tasmania.

The campaign, dubbed ‘Your Speed is Our Safety,’ is a joint initiative of the Civil Contractors Federation Tasmania, the Tasmanian Government and the Traffic Management Association of Australia.

The advertisements illustrate the impact of crashes at roadwork sites on the families of roadworkers.

Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Michael Ferguson said the Tasmanian Government supports the ongoing safety campaign.

“In presenting the trauma that flows from a moment of inattention or failure to reduce speed on the families of victims, these advertisements will hopefully prompt greater awareness among road users when they approach roadworks,” he said.
