WorkSafe WA probing Maya farm death

WorkSafe WA is investigating after an elderly man was killed in a farm incident in Western Australia’s Midwest region

The safety watchdog said the 72-year-old man was struck by an old tractor in Maya on Monday morning.

The man was jumpstarting the tractor when the incident occurred.

WorkSafe WA commissioner Darren Kavanagh sent his condolences to the man’s family.

WA’s agriculture, forestry and fishing industry has recorded five fatalities this year.
