WorkSafe Victoria probes death of hotel guest

Victoria’s safety authority has launched an investigation following the death of a man who fell at a Melbourne hotel on June 12.

WorkSafe confirmed the 50-year-old man died in hospital on Saturday.

“It is understood the 50-year-old guest walked through an aluminium screen and fell 60 centimetres onto the concrete below, striking his head,” WorkSafe Victoria said on Wednesday.

WorkSafe figures show 22 Victorian workers have suffered fatal work injuries since the beginning of this year.
