WorkSafe Tasmania targeting construction, transport and distillery sectors this year

Tasmania's WHS regulator has announced that inspectors will make both planned and unannounced visits to workplaces this year, to make sure they are managing health and safety risks.

WorkSafe Tasmania says inspectors will be focusing on work health and safety compliance in the construction, distillery, and transport sectors, and in workplaces where engineered stone is worked or used.

Inspectors work with businesses to ensure they are managing workplace health and safety risks, and therefore protecting the safety of all Tasmanians, WorkSafe Tasmania said.

“Inspectors take an educative approach to compliance, particularly where employers and workers are making genuine attempts to comply with their obligations under the work health and safety laws.”

“Make sure your safety systems are compliant before an inspector visits your workplace by checking out our online guidance.”
