WorkSafe seeks feedback on ‘organisational change’ for implementing new strategy
WorkSafe New Zealand has announced it will commence consultation with employees regarding its proposed organisational changes next week.
The proposal for change seeks to implement WorkSafe's new strategy and gradually enhance its frontline services.
“Our new strategy defines how we will undertake our role as Aotearoa New Zealand’s primary work health and safety regulator,” says Interim Chief Executive Kane Patena.
“This involves a mix of enforcement, engagement and permitting activities, with a targeted focus on high-risk sectors and high-risk work activities.”
WorkSafe said the consultation period involving all staff will commence on 23 October and end on 8 November 2024.
The workplace safety regulator added that all employee feedback will be taken into account, and any decisions will be communicated to WorkSafe employees prior to others.
