WorkSafe probes fatality involving mining machinery

A worker has succumbed to injuries sustained during an incident at a gold mine in Fosterville last Friday.

According to WorkSafe, the 53-year-old man was working with a cable bolter about 1.6 kilometers underground when he became trapped in the machinery around 11:30 am.

WorkSafe has launched an investigation into the incident.
