WorkSafe NZ probing fatal farm vehicle incidents
Four fatal incidents involving farm vehicles within one month is a reminder to New Zealand farm workers to prioritise health and safety.
New Zealand’s workplace health and safety watchdog, WorkSafe says it has been notified of seven incidents involving farm vehicles in the past month.
“Sadly, there have been four deaths,” said WorkSafe spokesperson Paul West.
“We have initial inquiries underway, and part of these inquiries will establish whether each incident occurred at a workplace or as a result of work activity.”
The fatal incidents happened in Taumarunui, Tokoroa, Opotiki and Southland.
