WorkSafe finalises decisions pertaining to organisational restructuring
WorkSafe New Zealand is implementing organisational changes to advance its strategic objectives.
The safety regulator has announced an enhancement of its frontline services, which entails an annual investment of an additional $2.7 million to expand its inspectorate.
“In turn, we are simplifying our structure, reducing some non-frontline roles, and ensuring all roles are clearly linked to strategic delivery,” says WorkSafe’s Chief Executive Sharon Thompson.
The safety watchdog says the assessment of the change proposal has been in progress since mid-November, after a consultation period that included WorkSafe’s kaimahi and stakeholders.
Currently, WorkSafe has a total of 704 permanent positions. In light of recent decisions, this figure will decrease to 675 permanent roles, which will encompass the gradual growth of its inspectorate.
