WorkSafe creating innovative avenues for recovery through employment

WorkSafe Victoria is offering a new innovative chance to harness creativity and speed up transformative solutions for enhancing return to work results.

The safety watchdog says funding of as much as $500,000 is presently accessible for new initiatives and programs that adopt a collaborative and comprehensive strategy toward 'recovery through work' for Victorians with a work-related physical injury.

Return to Work Victoria Executive Director Jason Lardelli stated that studies clearly indicated the importance of injured workers maintaining connections with coworkers during their recovery and returning to adjusted, meaningful tasks – when it is safe.

"We thought a lot about our theme for this grant round and for me, the key word is 'through' – emphasising the potential for work as a means to recovery for injured workers, not just an end point," Mr Lardelli said.
