WorkSafe 2023 work-related fatality data reveals transport is New Zealand’s most dangerous industry
According to New Zealand’s workplace safety regulator, forty-four workers have been killed at work this year.
Three industries including Transport, postal and warehousing, Agriculture and Construction have reported the highest number of occupational deaths this year.
The Transport, Postal and Warehousing industry has lost the highest number of workers, with 14 fatalities.
WorkSafe says the above data is based on initial reports and provides preliminary information.
