Workers sustain injuries at NSW mine after being trapped beneath coal underground
Four mine workers were admitted to the hospital after being partially trapped under coal following the collapse of a mine roof in south-west Sydney.
The mine operator said the incident occurred early Sunday morning, prompting an emergency response and the suspension of mining activities "until further notice.
Paramedics were sent to Douglas Park in response to reports of four men who were trapped in coal up to their waists, approximately 500 meters below the surface.
Two men were transported to Wollongong Hospital, while another two were brought to Liverpool Hospital, all in stable condition
