Worker sustains severe injuries after falling into water tank

A man suffered severe injuries after plunging 5m into a water tank south of Brisbane on Monday afternoon.

The man in his 50s tumbled into the underground rainwater pit at around 1.40pm.

The man fell while working at a business in Daisy Hill.

After being rescued by firefighters, paramedics provided him with treatment for serious injuries to his head and legs before transporting him to Princess Alexandra Hospital for further treatment.

Workplace Health and Safety Queensland is currently looking into the incident.
