Worker suffers smoke inhalation after Newcastle factory fire

A worker suffered minor smoke inhalation after a factory fire near Newcastle on Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Parker Street, Carrington about 5.30pm following reports of a fire.

A 49-year-old man was treated at the scene for minor smoke inhalation.

He was later transported to hospital as a precaution.

The fire was later extinguished by firefighters.
