Worker killed at WA’s alumina refinery

WorkSafe has commenced an investigation following the death of a worker at an alumina refinery near Collie on Saturday morning.

WA Police said emergency services were dispatched to the refinery just before 4am.

The 47-year-old man died on-site, despite the rapid response of first aid personnel.

Steve McCartney, the state secretary of the Australian Manufacturing Workers' Union, conveyed his condolences to the family of the deceased man.
