Worker killed at Northern Territory gold mine

A worker has been killed in an incident at a mine site north-west of Alice Springs.

The mine operator confirmed a fatality occurred at the site on Wednesday afternoon.

"Emergency response procedures were immediately activated, and relevant authorities have been notified and are attending the site," a spokesperson told the ABC News.

NT police said they were notified about the incident at about 4pm on Wednesday, while WorkSafe confirmed that an investigation was in progress.
