Worker dies from injuries sustained at Nelson workplace


A workplace incident at a commercial facility at a New Zealand port has resulted in the death of a person.

The incident happened on Tuesday afternoon.

Paramedics were sent to the scene shortly after 12.35pm.

The police indicated that the person was discovered in a life-threatening condition after an incident at the workplace just prior to 1pm. Although CPR was administered, the efforts to revive the individual were not successful.

The incident is currently under investigation by both the police and Maritime New Zealand.
