Worker dies following excavator incident at macadamia farm in Queensland

A farm contractor has been killed after becoming trapped beneath an excavator in Queensland.

The man, 55, was fatally injured while working at a farm in Owanyilla on Tuesday afternoon.

Paramedics arrived at the macadamia farm at about 3.20pm and proceeded to assess the man for critical injuries to his pelvis and abdomen.

Following his injuries, he was airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital via rescue helicopter; however, he has subsequently succumbed to his injuries.

Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) is investigating the fatal incident.
