WorkCover Queensland welcomes new CEO

Queensland Industrial Relations Minister Grace Grace has disclosed that Mr Michael Pennisi will be taking on the role of CEO at WorkCover Queensland.

According to the State Government, Mr Pennisi has years of experience in senior roles at some of Queensland's top insurance and investment companies.

“Supporting Queensland workers and businesses is at the heart of everything WorkCover Queensland does, and Mr Pennisi will bring a wealth of experience and strong leadership to continue the good work of the organisation,” Ms Grace said.

“The Queensland Government is committed to keeping Queenslanders working by keeping premiums the lowest of any state or territory while giving injured workers the best possible return to work support.”

Mr. Pennisi is scheduled to assume the role of Workcover CEO on the 18th of June, 2024, and will also be taking over the vacant position on the Work Health and Safety Board previously held by Mr. Watson upon his retirement.
