Work safety programme designed for Pacific workers celebrates 15th anniversary

A WorkSafe New Zealand programme, designed for Pacific workers, is celebrating its fifteenth year in 2021.

The Puataunofo ‘Come Home Safely’ is a workplace health and safety education programme that focuses on providing health and safety messages to Pacific workers.

Established in 2006, it aims to improve the health and safety of Pacific manufacturing workers in Manukau. The programme was relaunched in 2019 with extra resourcing from WorkSafe.

“We look forward to continuing to make a positive change and encouraging workers and businesses to rethink their health and safety responsibilities in 2021,” said the organisation’s National Advisor for the programme, Hans Key.
