A woman was flown to the hospital by the LifeFlight helicopter following a farming incident in southern Queensland on Saturday afternoon.

The LifeFlight helicopter was dispatched at 1:47 PM to a farm in the Southern Downs Region, where it landed in a paddock adjacent to the scene of the incident.

It is understood the woman was caught in machinery for a number of hours prior to being rescued by officers from the Queensland Fire Department (QFD).

The LifeFlight team worked alongside local QAS paramedics to provide treatment for a severe leg injury.

The woman, aged in her 30s, was later flown to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in critical condition.
