OHS Daily News

WorkSafe has initiated an investigation following a tragic incident in which a worker was killed by a metal bucket that fell at a concrete manufacturing site in Werribee.

WorkSafe said the 36-year-old was ‘using a winch to position a mould for casting when the metal bucket, which was holding a length of chain, broke free from the top of a gantry, striking him on the head.’

This incident represents the 29th confirmed work-related death recorded in 2024.
