Vic Govt funding safeguards employees against workplace diseases and illnesses
The Victorian Government is allocating funds to innovative programs that strive to better shield Victorian workers from work-related diseases and illnesses.
Ben Carroll, Deputy Premier and Minister for WorkSafe and the TAC, has recently revealed that over $1.7 million has been granted to six organisations in the latest round of WorkSafe’s program aimed at minimising workplace injuries and assisting injured employees.
“These grants recognise innovative projects that will reduce harm and support workers across Victoria,” he said
“We’re working together to find solutions across the board that have the greatest impact on the health, safety and wellbeing of Victorian workers.”
The Victorian Government notes that work-related illnesses and diseases can be difficult to deal with as they often take a long time to show symptoms after exposure. This delay makes them harder to detect and manage than other health and safety risks.
