Transport-related work fatalities increase

According to the latest data from Safe Work Australia, there have been 62 fatal workplace injuries among Australian workers since the start of the year.

The transport, postal, and warehousing sector has experienced the most fatalities, with 25 incidents, while the construction sector follows with 6 fatalities.

The agriculture, forestry, and fishing sector comes in third place, having recorded five workplace deaths.

Other industries on the Safe Work Australia list have each reported fewer than five fatalities.
