Training vessel promotes mental health in Tasmanian seafood industry

A new training vessel has been launched to raise awareness and support workers' mental health in the Tasmanian seafood industry.

The vessel was launched on R U OK? Day - an annual event to remind people about the importance of mental health.

Primary Industries and Water Minister Jo Palmer said, "we know the seafood industry was one of the sectors hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, and this initiative demonstrates our shared dedication and commitment to the health and wellbeing of Tasmania's seafood industry employees."

The training vessel is an initiative of the Stay Afloat Program, run by the Tasmanian Seafood Industry Council and Rural Alive and Well (RAW).
