Law reform for workplace deaths.

In response to community concern and after a parliamentary inquiry into industrial deaths almost three years ago, families who've lost loved ones at work will see Federal laws reformed.

A report issued in 2018 detailed the findings of a senate inquiry into the investigation, prevention and prosecution of industrial deaths in Australia. 34 recommendations were made to the federal government and Industrial Relations minister Michaelia Cash, said that jurisdictions were working together to address them.

Family members who lost loved ones gave evidence at the inquiry almost three years ago, and labour senator Deborah O'Neill said. 'Many of those people who came forward also expressed a concern about the lack of a crime for industrial manslaughter.'

'People are watching,' she said.
