Tasmanian company charged over jumping castle deaths

Charges have been laid against a Tasmanian company almost two years after six children were killed in a jumping castle incident at a primary school in Devonport.

Six children were killed while three others sustained serious injuries after a jumping castle was blown into the air by a gust of wind in December 2021.

The jumping castle operator faces charges under the Work Health and Safety Act 2012 for “failing to comply with a health and safety duty in a way that exposed the children to a risk of death or serious injury."
