South Australian truck driver joins heavy vehicle safety campaign

A South Australia truckie has partnered with the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator to raise awareness about heavy vehicle safety.

CJ has joined NHVR's We All Need Space campaign, where she shares online videos on heavy vehicle safety with her followers

“As a kid, my dad let me sit in the trucks and go on the occasional trip with him, which is really where my love for trucking flourished,” she said.

“Of his four daughters, two of us now work in the transport industry.

“And being out on the road myself, I’m passionate about educating other motorists on how to drive responsibly around trucks.”

NHVR Executive Director Michelle Tayler said six fatal incidents involving heavy vehicles have been reported in South Australia this year.

“Sadly, those crashes have resulted in seven fatalities, which is tragic for those families,” she said.
