The Electricity Safety Regulator under NT WorkSafe is inviting input from Territorians on the proposed amendments to the Northern Territory’s electrical safety rules.

NT WorkSafe says the Government is updating the electrical safety regulations to ensure the safety of Territorians and minimise the risks associated with electrical hazards.

“The new laws will apply wherever electricity is used, including private residences, workplaces and public spaces, and to any person who could affect the electrical safety of others,” NT WorkSafe said.

The consultation period is set to end on Sunday 2 June 2024.
