Seventeen New Zealand workers killed in 2024
The latest data from WorkSafe reveals that a total of 17 New Zealand workers have lost their lives while working this year.
The Transport, Postal and Warehousing industry has been hit the hardest, with six fatalities. The Construction industry has recorded three fatalities, while Manufacturing, Agriculture, and Arts and Recreation Services have each experienced two fatalities.
Furthermore, Administrative and Support Services as well as Forestry and Logging have each reported one fatal incident.
