SafeWork unveils five-year strategy to ensure safe and healthy work environments

SafeWork NSW has initiated a five-year strategic framework focused on maintaining the physical and mental safety of workers, with the goal of ensuring all employees can safely return to their families after each workday.

The safety watchdog says it is ‘committed to securing safe and healthy workplaces in NSW and will continue to prevent injuries and harm through strong, responsive regulatory approaches, as well as supporting industry by educating, advising and empowering leaders to provide safer workplaces.’

In accordance with the Strategic Plan, the Annual Regulatory Statement from SafeWork NSW specifies the regulatory priorities and reforms designated for this year.

Trent Curtin, Acting Deputy Secretary SafeWork NSW stated his pride in unveiling the agency's five-year strategic plan, adding that the plan is designed to direct the safety agency in enhancing its regulatory and enforcement strategies, ensuring that it remains a robust, accountable, and responsive authority in work health and safety.
