SafeWork SA releases 2023-2024 Activity report

SafeWork SA has published its Activity Report for the year 2023-2024.

Key highlights of the Report include the implementation of new regulations to strengthen the protection of South Australian workers, a record-setting issuance of statutory notices, and a safety enforcement operation aimed at high-risk sectors.

The report indicates that the regulatory body has significantly increased its compliance activities in comparison to the financial year 2022-2023.

This escalation has led to the issuance of 6,021 statutory notices, representing a 57 percent increase and the highest figure recorded in a decade.

Additionally, there were 6,813 work site inspections conducted, marking a 33 percent rise, along with 4,456 improvement notices, which saw a 67 percent increase, and 995 prohibition notices, reflecting a 63 percent growth.
