SafeWork SA files charges against disability service provider

A disability service provider has been charged by SafeWork SA after a worker was sexually assaulted by a client.

SafeWork SA accuses the organisation of failing in their health and safety duty to protect an employee who was on duty.

The safety watchdog alleges that the organisation failed to provide a safe work environment and did not provide enough information to the worker about the risk posed by the client.

The disability service provider is further accused of failing to provide personal protective equipment to the worker.

A date for the hearing is yet to be set.
