SafeWork SA cautions employers following heatwave alert

SafeWork SA has recently urged employers to activate their hot weather policy or implement necessary precautions to protect workers from heat-related risks.

Temperatures were expected to reach 37 degrees in several parts of the state during the weekend, according to the safety watchdog.

SafeWork SA encourages employers to make necessary adjustments to workplace activities or provide extra provisions as needed.

The safety regulator also urges the public to show respect towards workers during heatwaves and to acknowledge the challenging conditions they may be facing while carrying out their duties.
