SafeWork NSW undertaking safety blitz across construction sites in the Central Coast region
This week, SafeWork NSW is carrying out specific compliance checks on construction sites located on the Central Coast region.
According to SafeWork, inspectors will prioritise their regulatory focus on the harms that present the most significant risks to workers, especially in construction environments.
Moreover, inspectors will be inspecting worksites to confirm that safety requirements are being met to ensure the safety of workers on the job, and they will evaluate if businesses are meeting their duties as stipulated by work health and safety regulations.
As part of these visits, inspectors will engage with employees, businesses, health and safety representatives, and union delegates.
SafeWork Commissioner Janet Schore emphasised that inspectors are dedicated to upholding and advancing safety measures to ensure the protection of lives in occupational settings.
“There is no excuse for unsafe practices on construction sites,” Janet said.
“Every worker has the right to go home safely at the end of the day.”
