Safety warning issued after two workers in the Territory burned in different refuelling incidents

NT WorkSafe has issued a safety alert to highlight the possible danger of fires and serious burn injuries that may occur while refuelling petrol-powered equipment.

In the previous month, two employees from the Territory were critically burned in separate occurrences during the refueling of petrol-powered pressure cleaners.

The initial incident took place at a worksite located in the Coomalie Shire, while the subsequent incident transpired at a worksite in Darwin.

NT WorkSafe has outlined the possible contributing factors along with the actions needed to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
