Safety blitz targets construction sites in Wollondilly

SafeWork NSW inspectors will visit Wilton and Menangle areas this week, inspecting residential construction sites in Wollondilly to guarantee and enforce compliance with workplace safety protocols.

Falls from elevated surfaces continue to be the primary cause of deaths, and both compliance officers and inspectors will adopt a zero-tolerance policy in response.

SafeWork observes that workers' lives remain endangered due to inadequate job planning, insufficient site supervision, and the neglect of established and easily implementable preventive measures, such as edge protection.

SafeWork said inspectors will be interacting with employees, employers, Health and Safety Representatives, and union representatives regarding psychological health and safety, offering guidance and resources to address psychosocial risks.
