Safe Work Australia’s new SWMS guide aims to debunk certain misconceptions surrounding SWMS

Safe Work Australia has released a new SWMS guide which explains the importance of a SWMS; when it is necessary and how to use it.

The guide has videos and ‘interactive elements that can be used for toolbox talks’ or as an educational resource.

“The tool aims to change the culture around SWMS, ensuring PCBUs genuinely consider hazards and risks, and use the best possible controls to keep workers safe,” says Safe Work Australia.

Businesses that create their own SWMS, and people joining the construction industry will benefit from the tool, according to the federal safety agency.
