Safe Work Australia releases updated preliminary fatal work injuries data

Safe Work Australia has made significant improvements to the preliminary fatalities dashboard on its website to offer fresh perspectives on fatal occupational injuries.

This updated dashboard presents the most up-to-date estimation of workers who have suffered fatal injuries in Australian workplaces.

The dashboard now provides a comprehensive breakdown of data by industry and mechanism.

The preliminary 2023 data shows 173 workers died on the job, with the mechanism of ‘vehicle accident’ accounting for 75 of the fatalities.
