Safe Work Australia publishes preliminary data on workplace fatalities for 2026

The most recent figures from Safe Work Australia show that 14 workers have died in the workplace this year.

The transport, postal, and warehousing industry has seen 6 fatalities, followed by Agriculture, forestry, and fishing, along with the Mining sectors, which have each reported 3 fatalities.

Both the construction and Other services industries have recorded one fatality each.
