Safe Work Australia publishes online model Code of Practice for healthcare and social assistance sector

Safe Work Australia has introduced an online format of the model Code of Practice pertaining to the healthcare and social assistance industry, which simplifies access to and application of this vital guidance.

The federal regulatory body stated that the online model Code offers the same guidance to the previously published text-based version, which is now available in a clear and user-friendly web format to facilitate easier navigation and usage.

“Designed to support employers and workers across Australia’s largest and fastest growing sector – employing more than 2 million people and recording the highest number of work-related injuries – the online model Code provides clear, practical advice to help manage workplace risks and meet work health and safety (WHS) duties,” Safe Work Australia said.

The online model Code was created in collaboration with industry stakeholders and members of Safe Work Australia, with the objective of making WHS guidance available to all those working in this sector.
