Safe Work Australia invites comments on recommended workplace exposure limits for nine chemicals

OHS Daily News

Safe Work Australia is requesting input regarding the effects of suggested workplace exposure limits for nine specific chemicals.

The consultation's goal is to collect data on the economic, social, and health effects of the suggested exposure limit for every chemical.

The nine chemicals being considered include benzene, chlorine, copper (fumes, dusts, and mists), formaldehyde, hydrogen cyanide, hydrogen sulphide, nitrogen dioxide, respirable crystalline silica, and titanium dioxide.

“We encourage submissions from all stakeholders with an interest in one or more of the 9 chemicals under consideration,” Safe Work Australia said.

“Submissions received as part of this consultation will inform the impact analysis that will be provided to WHS ministers for decision.”
