Safe Work Australia introduces new tools to support organisations in optimising their workplace health and safety data reporting processes

OHS Daily News

Safe Work Australia has recently unveiled a range of new tools on its data website, ‘Our Data. Your Stories’ aimed at facilitating users in the assessment, measurement, and reporting of work health and safety (WHS) performance.

The resources comprise a newly developed webpage designed to assist in the interpretation of data and to elucidate the principles that form the foundation of WHS reporting and performance. Additionally, there is an interactive dashboard that presents data on workers’ compensation injury frequency rates, offering various breakdown options to facilitate benchmarking.

“Drawing data from Safe Work Australia’s national workers’ compensation statistics, the dashboard can be filtered by industry, occupation, injury type and severity,” Safe Work Australia said.

“The new dashboard supports a more holistic approach to using data to measure WHS performance and will ultimately replace the existing Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR) calculator.”

Additional information is available on the Safe Work Australia website.
