Results of Queensland’s mining industry safety reporting culture survey released
The Queensland Government has recently published a comprehensive survey that examines the safety reporting culture in the state's mining industry.
The State Government says the industry-wide survey, the first of its kind, involved the participation of over 7500 miners.
The objective of the survey was to pinpoint the strengths and areas for improvement within the industry to promote a more robust safety reporting culture.
Resources Safety and Health Acting Commissioner Andrew Clough said, “The report establishes a baseline of the safety reporting behaviours exhibited at mine and quarry sites and sets a benchmark for the industry to measure its safety reporting culture against in the future.”
