Resources accessible for Palmerston homeowners to handle asbestos hazards

NT WorkSafe urges individuals in Palmerston and Rural areas with home renovation projects planned for the Easter long weekend to participate in the Information Hub sessions at the Palmerston Library to receive vital information concerning asbestos.

This Friday, from 10:00am to 12:00pm, WorkSafe inspectors will be present at the Palmerston Library Information Hub to offer guidance regarding asbestos in residential properties.

“If your home was built before 1990, your home may contain asbestos.  Asbestos materials that are in good condition and left undisturbed and intact are not dangerous,” said NT WorkSafe.

“However, if you are renovating, demolishing or doing general home maintenance you need to be aware that asbestos fibres and dust pose a serious health risk.”
