Queensland man killed in lawnmower incident on his first day at work

A man has lost his life due to a horrific lawnmower incident in Queensland.

The 50-year-old man sustained fatal injuries when his ride-on mower collided with a tree, south of Toowoomba, at about 2pm on Monday.

Paramedics were dispatched to the scene, but unfortunately, the man did not survive his injuries.

According to reports, the man was performing his duties on the first day of his job as a groundskeeper when the incident took place.

Police said they are collaborating with Workplace Health and Safety in their ongoing investigation.
