Queensland implements improved and more precise WHS regulations
The Queensland Government has implemented several legislative amendments under the Work Health and Safety and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2024 to enhance safety, fairness, health, and productivity in workplaces.
Workplace Health and Safety Queensland has stated that the changes will benefit the industry and provide additional support mechanisms for the Government to effectively enforce work health and safety regulations.
The changes received backing from Deputy Director General for the Office of Industrial Relations, Peter McKay.
"These changes were informed by the recent review of the Work Health and Safety Act and bring clarity to industry and Government to move ahead with even greater confidence,” he said.
"I know these changes will strengthen and protect our workforce, and I thank all businesses and workers for complying with the legislation."
