Priority plans serve as roadmap for WorkSafe's future initiatives

New Zealand’s workplace safety watchdog, WorkSafe, has released priority plans that will implement its new strategy for the next two years.

The plans include industries with the greatest incidence of work-related injuries in New Zealand specifically construction, manufacturing, forestry, and agriculture.

WorkSafe explains that the new approach will streamline how it fulfils its primary function of encouraging businesses and employees to fulfil their health and safety obligations as well as ensuring accountability for those who fail to comply.

The strategy accepts that WorkSafe has limitations in its presence and underscores the critical role of collaboration.
